The Power of Presence and Gratitude
This week I had a moment that reminded me of the simple joys we often take for granted. As I was heading into yoga, I passed a man leaning against the big glass window of the gym, smiling so big it looked like he might burst into laughter. Naturally, I was curious about what was making him so happy, so I took a quick glance.
Just beyond the window, I saw a family playing basketball together. Little ones trying to shoot hoops, their laughter filling the air as they played together. It was clear this man was reliving a moment. I could almost see him playing with his children, surrounded by love and family. His smile told me how much that memory meant to him, and I couldn’t help but feel the warmth of it.
As we crossed paths, he looked at me and asked, “Getting ready for a class?” I replied, “Oh yes, yoga on a Sunday, it doesn’t get any better.” And with that same big smile, he said, “Good, you deserve it,” before walking on.
Sometimes, the smallest interactions leave the biggest impact. Today, I’m grateful for this brief encounter that reminded me of the power of presence, gratitude, and the simple pleasures in life. 🤍
Parenting is hard. Being a mom is HARD. Just remind yourself during those challenging times that it doesn’t last forever. Make fun memories now, no matter how busy or tired you are. You will appreciate looking back on those memories & smile 🫶🏼
