welcome
My name is Casi Shelton. I am the founder & owner of the Healing House 906, LLC.
Healing House started as a Thrivant Give Generously project. If you don’t know what that is, I highly recommend looking into it. Through this project, Buddy Bear was created. Buddy Bear is a comfort tool made for kids experiencing big emotions. I gave Buddy Bear to children’s hospitals, elementary schools, family caring homes, and jails for incarcerated mothers to give to their children on visits.
Our largest order was for an elementary school in Northern Wisconsin to give to their students during Mental Health Awareness month. Their school did a presentation on big emotions & gifted each student with a Buddy Bear.
I then had a vision of bringing Buddy Bear to life in a children’s book. I teamed up with 3KiddosPublishing and Lynne Lillge The Italic Illustrator - they brought my vision to life! The book is about a young boy named Ty who is just starting Kindergarten. He experiences many feelings and emotions on his first day of school, but with the comfort of Buddy Bear, Ty is able to find his confidence and bravery!
While creating Buddy Bear, I was also making mindful worksheets for my sons to do during the summer. I didn’t want to teach ABC’s or 123’s. I wanted to take this time to focus on social and emotional learning. I wanted to make it memorable and fun! The Mindful Me Workbook is a collection of engaging activities like Brave Bingo, fun exercises to do together, coloring, cut and paste, mindful sight words, and so much more!
The Healing House App is a space to store and SHARE all these fun learning tools and resources I created for my kids, with you!
I want to help moms understand their childs big emotions. I want to provide those moms with love, support, resources, and tools to help them better understand their child on an emotional level.
I want to share these resources with schools by enhancing kindergarten and first grade SEL initiatives. Through storytelling, creative activities, and mindfulness practices, I make emotional learning fun and accessible. Our children need tools to become kind to themselves & understanding of others.
